Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Spokane Wildfire Recovery and Community Care ("we," "us"), operated by HIKE with Her LLC, is a pop-up community resource for the Spokane / Inland Northwest area. We designed this tool to collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.

1. The information we collect

We collect information through two forms. Both are handled in our customer relationship management (CRM) system:

a. Needs form, from people seeking help

  • If you tell us what you need, we ask for your name, phone number, and email so we can follow up and try to connect you with the right help. We also ask what kind of support you're looking for.
  • We ask you not to include extra sensitive personal details in free-text answers, just enough for us to understand and reach you.
  • We use this to respond to you and, in aggregate, to understand community needs and recruit help to fill gaps.

b. Organization offer intake, from organizations offering help

  • Organizations offering support provide verifiable business information (legal name, WA UBI number or a vouching contact, website, a contact name and email, offer details, and a review date).
  • We use this to verify the organization, publish approved listings, follow up, and keep listings current.
  • This information is stored in our CRM system and shared only as needed to operate the directory.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not require accounts or passwords.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not run advertising or social-media tracking pixels on this site.

3. Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used, for example which pages help people, so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location, referring links, and device or browser type. We do not use this to identify you personally, and we do not run advertising retargeting pixels. Analytics only loads if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit; you can decline it there, or opt out later by clearing cookies or installing Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Two other notes: the forms on our "Share a need" and "Offer help" pages are provided by our forms/CRM provider and may set cookies needed for those forms to work; and our hosting provider may set basic technical cookies required to serve the site securely.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the tool: our CRM/forms provider (which stores the needs-form and offer-form submissions), our website host, and Google Analytics (aggregate usage measurement). Each handles data only to provide their service to us. We may disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of people or the community. Directory listings display the contact details that each organization itself provided for public referral.

5. Retention

We keep an organization's submission and listing for as long as the offer is active and for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up, record-keeping, and to help the community. Each listing carries a review date, and organizations can ask us to update or remove their information at any time (see below). We keep needs-form submissions for as long as needed to follow up and support you, and afterward we may retain de-identified, aggregate counts for reporting on community needs. You can ask us to remove your information at any time (see below).

6. Your choices & rights

Whether you submitted a need or listed an organization, you can ask us to review, correct, or remove your information at any time by emailing fires@hikewithher.com, we'll act on verified requests promptly. If you have any privacy question or request, email us and we'll do our best to help.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we work with service providers that do the same. Still, no method of transmitting or storing information is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please share only what's needed, and don't include extra sensitive personal details in free-text fields.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
